App Crashes or Freezes

If TexStage crashes or freezes unexpectedly, try these steps:

  • Restart the app: Quit TexStage completely and reopen it.
  • Update to the latest version: Ensure you’re using the latest version of TexStage by checking for updates in the App Store.
  • Restart your device: Sometimes, a device restart can resolve temporary software issues.
  • Check file size: Large presentation files may cause performance issues. Try optimizing or reducing the file size of your Beamer PDF. If the problem persists, please post it in the forum.

Display Issues with Beamer Slides

If your LaTeX Beamer slides aren’t displaying correctly, try the following solutions:

  • Check PDF format: Ensure your PDF file is properly generated with Beamer. TexStage is optimized for PDFs created with Beamer.
  • Re-import the PDF: Reloading the PDF can sometimes resolve display issues.
  • Ensure external displays are properly connected: If you’re using an external monitor or projector, make sure the connection is stable.

External Display Issues on macOS

If your presentation isn’t appearing on an external monitor:

  • Verify that your Mac is connected properly via HDMI, DisplayPort, or Thunderbolt.
  • Go to System Settings > Displays and ensure the external display is recognized and configured.

Hotkeys Not Responding on macOS

If hotkeys or keyboard shortcuts aren’t working:

  • Ensure TexStage is the active window.
  • Restart your Mac and reopen TexStage.
  • If the issue is reproducible, document the steps and post the problem in the forum.

Remote Control Not Connecting to iPhone or iPad

If TexStage can’t connect to your iPhone or iPad:

  • Verify that TexStage has permission to access the Local Network in Settings on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Go to TexStage Settings on your Mac > Remote Control and add your device to the list of trusted devices.

Issues with File Imports on iOS

If you’re unable to import files from iCloud, Google Drive, or other cloud services:

  • Ensure TexStage has permission to access these services under Settings > TexStage > Document Storage.
  • Confirm that you’re logged into the correct cloud account and have network access.
  • Try re-importing the file after restarting TexStage.

External Display Not Working on iOS

If TexStage isn’t showing up on an external monitor or projector:

  • Check your AirPlay connection to ensure it’s properly set up.

Remote Control Not Finding My Mac

If the app can’t find your Mac:

  • Make sure TexStage has permission to access the Local Network in Settings on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Go to TexStage Settings on your Mac > Remote Control and add your device to the list of trusted devices.
